[OS X TeX] input files

I have a question about input files I use often. I am transitioning from TeXtures, which had a folder called "inputs" or something similar. I have tried opening the file, but even so, MACTeX seems unable to find it, unless I put the file in the same folder as the main document. Is there a place in the MACTeX folder where I could store my favorite input files? I use mostly plain TeX.
