I indeed forgot to try that and ... not only does it work but the  
chapter tocs now send to the corresponding sections !!!!

An interesting thing, though, is that Arseneau says of his titleref  
package (which I am using):

(Well, it took me long enough to get my chapter tocs back then and I  
am of the opinion that if it ain't broke, don't even think of fixing  
it. Particularly as I have no idea of what I did at the time.)
