Can you post a small document showing what you're doing? Personally,   
I would use biblatex for this kind of thing, but if you're using some  
other packages for bibiliography (chapterbib?) then it would be  
helpful to see what you're doing.  If your publication list is  
relatively small then maybe it would be easiest to use bibentry for  
them.
