Howdy,

There are System Fonts (used by the system itself but also available  
for use by all users---don't touch these) in /System/Library/Fonts/,  
System Wide Fonts (for access by all users) in /Library/Fonts/ and  
Personal Fonts in ~/Library/Fonts/.
