I strongly encourage to use the Memoir class, and work through its
excellent manual in setting up your document. Memoir offers several
settings to define your logical paper size independently from the
physical paper size, and offers more font-size options. This way it
is easy to set up your document for use on screen, and still be able
to print samples for testing (if the end-product is to be put on
paper eventually).
