Back on the intel iMac, and the solution turned out to be extremely
simple: I forgot to change the path settings in TeXShop, so I ended
with using my old TeTeX installation. When I switched to TeXLive, I
went through my local texmf and compared every package with the ones
in the TeXLive tree and deleted quite a lot. Since some packages of
teTeX aren't up to date, this resulted in different results when
typesetting it.
