IIRC the same should happen in multi-page view (ie keeping the same  
page viewing area when moving from page to page), and the fact that  
it doesn't is a bug in the current version of TeXShop. IIRC Dick Koch  
(the main TeXShop developer) said this will be corrected in the next  
version -- whenever that will be.
