Thanks for your helpful comments

I first did sudo updmap --enable Map iffonts.map, but nothing got
updated. Then I tried sudo updmap --enable Map ./ifmath.map in the
directory where the map file resides and, heureka, the missing files
were generated. Does one of the unix gurus know why I need ./filename
instead of just filename ? Here the log:

Files generated:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 116515 Sep 6 12:18 /usr/local/teTeX/
share/texmf.local/fonts/map/dvipdfm/updmap/dvipdfm_dl14.map

-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 313442 Sep 6 12:17 /usr/local/teTeX/
share/texmf.local/fonts/map/dvips/updmap/psfonts_t1.map
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 317340 Sep 6 12:17 /usr/local/teTeX/
share/texmf.local/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap/pdftex_dl14.map
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 315871 Sep 6 12:17 /usr/local/teTeX/
share/texmf.local/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap/pdftex_ndl14.map

Unfortunately I still don't see any output, but I have to postpone
closer inspection until some later time.
