[OS X TeX] Can't get either TeX4ht or TeX and GhostScript to work with latest TeXShop

The subject header says it all; even fixing the defaults as  
recommended to simpdftex latex --maxpfb does nothing.  For example,  
for TeX and GhostScript, I get the following log:
