[OS X TeX] Applescript in Texshop 2

I am experiencing the following problems with applescript in texshop:

1. The Macro "Insert Reference" (Macros > Insert Reference  shift 
+command+R) causes the AppleScript error

    TeXShop got an error: AppleEvent timed out.

and fails to add a reference.

2. The applescript command:

tell application "TeXShop"
	activate
	close every window
end

causes the same AppleScript error message AND causes texshop to  
crash. Both applescript commands used to work (though I lost track of  
when the problem started).

My apologies if these have been reported previously.
