[OS X TeX] Texshop: strange problem with French letter

Actually 2 things:

- Editor:  caracter spacing is strange (it looks like al characters  
are double spaced)

- PDF viewer: sometimes opens OK, then the window turns black.

I read that other people had the same problems, so I confess I gave  
up, maybe too fast.
