[OS X TeX] several \marginpar per page

\usepackage{morefloats}

If that doesn't work, you'll have to re-write the output routine or 
wait for LaTeX3 belike, unless you can use Peter Wilson's Memoir 
documentclass and his sidebar environment will work for you.
