[OS X TeX] TeXShop engine problem?

That is not an answer to my question: the script itself should _not_ be 
in UTF-8.

?? chould you add a few more echo statements to your script, that 
should at least show where you're going. That second line, is that a 
command _you_ typed, or is it output from the script?
