[OS X TeX] orphaned section titles (OT)

I have never seen this happen unless the person has either redefined
the section title commands or has explicitly inserted some extra space
between the section title and the text that follows. When you say that
you have been unable to reproduce the behavior, do you mean that the
same source typeset on your installation does not do it? It would be
really helpful to see the source that is doing this -- can you provide
it?
