[OS X TeX] letter size paper in tetex and TeXshop

It doesn't do anything re: page size direct.

Should be, but there may be exceptions.

Yes.

To check the size of the .pdfs you're creating, load them in 
Adobe/Acrobat Reader --- it'll report the physical size in the status 
bar.

I usually use Adobe/Acrobat for printing, 'cause it has a slightly more 
capable (or comfortable?) UI than the Mac OS X standard sheet.
