Ha, that's interesting, I wasn't aware of this. Now I understand why, 
on the occasions I'm using Thunderbird or Mozilla Mail, I sometimes see 
fragments of *bold text* in a sea of plain text.

That said, I remember having seen rumours that, in Tiger, Apple Mail 
will replace its RTF mail functionality by HTML mail, so it's possible 
we see more and more HTML mail coming in then.
