The Konfabulator tool (http://www.konfabulator.com) for MacOS uses
bundles for defining "Widgets". Konfabulator was released for Windows
this week. They are using zip files, with the file extension changed
from .zip to .widget, as bundles on Windows. This seems to work
reasonably well, but is a bit clumsy because the bundle needs to be
renamed from *.widget to *.zip for the built-in tools to recognize that
the bundle can be opened. I suspect it would be straightforward to add
a contextual menu item on Windows for such .widget bundles akin to Show
Package Contents on Mac OS.
