Good to hear. Need to look into that sort of thing.

I meant that one has to install things like ImageMagick and GhostScript 
to get previews for graphics referenced in a .dvi file when viewing it.

No. It's an install wrapper for MikTeX, Texniccenter and a couple of 
other things targeted at new users.

Correct. I didn't mean to imply that they were equivalents, but rather 
alternative methods to consider for want of a 1:1 correspondence w/ a 
TeXshop for Windows.
