I've finished putting together my work on tkbibtex. Since I couldn't get
a packaged application bundle of tkbibtex running--I'm not sure why, as
it runs fine from the command line as Joe pointed out--I decided to
write an AppleScript launcher that provides drag-and-drop opening of
.bib files in tkbibtex. I've modestly called the package AquaTkbibtex.
I've also made a few minor adjustments to the tkbibtex script itself,
including fixing the home page in the "help" section, calling the
browser using the "open" command so it opens in the default browser,
refining the print dialog box, and correcting a couple of typos in the
menu.
The relevant page is http://www.wordtech-software.com/aquatkbibtex.html.
Note: everything must be installed in /Applications/AquaTkbibtex. Just
move the folder that is pulled from the zip file. I have the paths
hard-coded in the AppleScript launcher. This instruction isn't on the
website, but it is in the readme file.
Also, I'm not an expert on tkbibtex, but I know there are plenty of
folks on this list who are. :-)
I hope this is useful to someone.
