Howdy,
At least for the TeXShop version (I haven't tested it with iTeXMac yet) this
should be wrapped in a
tell application "TeXShop"
...
end tell
Or you've got to click on the dock icon to get the dialog; at least with OS
X 10.3.4 and TeXShop 1.34.
