I have no problem with that, but the easiest thing to do would be
either for me to add a panel asking you if you want the conversion (or
detect your results and *then* ask for permission.

Does it work for all kinds of apps (including Word and such) including
the behaviour of the shape keys like Cmd-B, Cmd-I etc.? I ended up
using my setup because with any setup with less families, the behaviour
of those keys became very counterintuitive.
