[OS X TeX] Problems with lozenge, square root

You can try selecting the input keyboard to be UFT-8 Unicode. I do that 
in TeXShop to get the greek. There is also a program XeTeX 
(http://scripts.sil.org/xetex) that it is supposed to help people with 
typesetting non R0man Script Languages. Never tried it but it might 
help.
