[OS X TeX] LaTeX for MAC

Dear Michael,

For some reason, the pdftex or the pdflatex is not
running (i think).

After I push latex or tex (with your commands and text
inputted), no crunching occurs and a new window
immediately appears: Goto error; tex messages: blank
space; tex input: space.

And that's it: nada, niente, zilch. No pdf is
produced.

I have this latex doc. printed out, but the commands
print w/ the text.

I have saved as pdf in print mode, but the commands
appear in the text.

After reading the manual and other stuff, I have been
unable to figure out why the pdftex or the pdflatex is
not running (if that is what is happening).

Any ideas?
