Those of you who're also subscribed to the pdftex-list, please pardon the
cross-post (which was under a bad subject :(
I'm trying to get pdfTeX to set annotations on a .pdf so that we don't
have to manually transfer figure callouts.
Here's the macro I'm using:
%macro to callout figures as .pdf annotations in the margin
\newcommand{\callout}[1]{#1\marginpar{\hbox to 6pc{\pdfannot{/Subtype
/FreeText /Contents (#1)}\strut}}}
which works fine---except the annotations don't print!?!
They show up in the full versions Acrobat 4.0 for Mac, and Acrobat 5.0 for
PC (in Acrobat Reader 5 in Mac OS X I can see a dot or some such, Apple's
Preview.app and TeXShop.app don't show anything :(
but they don't print, either to an HP LaserJet 8150, or an HP1220C via
Adobe's PressReady.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or some option I can set to get them
to print? (I do have the standard checkbox for printing annotations turned
on)
