[Mac OS X TeX] Default Font in TeXShop

Is there any way to change the default font in TeXShop ?
Helvetica really doesn't display |l|l| or !h very well. For those
using Mail and can't tell the difference it is alternating sequences
of the letter "l" and the vertical bar "|". A rather common occurrence
with table definitions.
