[Mac OS X TeX] Strange TeXShop image behavior (?)

I've also used OmniGraffle to produce PDF's for TeXShop, but I use 
pdftex.  In TeXShop, look at your "typeset" menu.  Is pdftex checked? 
And, do you have "\usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx}" in your file?
