i already discarded it because we don't want to touch this ... if 
usersrun into these boundaries their solutions are likely suboptimal and 
they will hit that (moved) boundary at some other point in time

(there are ways to optimize this but it's a major surgery and luatex is 
frozen; after all, for decades, it never was an issue)
