Alas, this is not easy because texi2pdf has a bug: it doesn't accept
calls like

```
PDFTEX="luatex --fmt=luatex-plain" texi2pdf ...
```

Assuming this gets fixed soon I'll have a try.

Irrespective of that it would be nice if using `luatex` directly
worked in the near future :-)
