do you mean 0.80 (as in texlive 2015) or the new 0.85 test release
announced on this list yesterday
the latter doesn't define \pdfoutput (although aliases can be made)
but it's possible for some
tests to make the wrong choice, depending on exactly what tests the
code does, (we're working through
latex packages for this kind of issue now)
