[luatex] Luatex wishlist

Hi all,

Now that 0.40.0 is out (and 0.40.1 will follow in a few days) it is
time to start collecting the wishes for future versions, so that we
can decide which ones to focus one for the next release, 0.50.0.
The roadmap says:

  Also known as the halfway version, version 0.50 will show up around
  EuroTeX 2009 that takes place in Delft in the Netherlands. This
  version will be a polished version 0.40 with some pending cleanup
  being done. It is the prelude to 0.60, the CWeb version.

The relative quiet that is implied in that statement does not mean
that nothing new can be added, just that any requests specifically
for that release should be fairly humble in nature.

There is a list of proposed extensions that I have on my desk already,
but I am pretty sure that there were more ideas that were already
mentioned on this list (and earlier, on the dev-luatex list).

As it is almost impossible for me to wade through all my email boxes
relating to luatex to dig up such requests, I have to ask the people
that actually did propose something to go to

and add tracker items for their request(s) if these are not already
represented.
