Right, I found that it accepts both fullname and names.preffamilyname
(with /B etc.)

Last time I checked ConTeXt didn't, but I see now it has code to detect
font weight and style, but no idea how it is used. It is on my todo list
however (this one of the reasons I'm working on that names database.)
