Dear Jim,
I am still note understanding. My question was about the phrase «
there @var{num} is the page number of the first page of @var{unit} ».
What does « the first page of toc », or « the first page of lof » or «
the first page of lot » mean. These terms are meaningless to me.
My understanding is that @var{num} is the expantion of the page number
at the shitpout of the page where the where \addcontentsline is found.
This is what I wrote in my first message.
V.
