I think that also the text which you pushed is OK and sufficient.
Just one detail : you put a @cindex @LaTeX{} format, I think that this
does not exist as such, or better said what is meant here is not  «
*a* LaTeX format », but « *the* LaTerX TeX format », that is to say
the TeX format by which LaTeX is loaded faster.
I think that for accuracy we should remove this @cindex or replace it
by « @LaTeX{} @TeX{} format »
I can do it while propagating the change to fr.
