Hi,

Okay, I found the problem, even if I do not understand why it
produces the problem.
The problem is that the generation of the images fails and then
of course latex2html can not find the images :( I have attached
the file l2h.001.

It seems that latex complains about the "$11$\end" at the line
before no. 594. In the 98.1p7 the whole sequence of numbers in
the second item from $1$ till $19$ is not transfered to the
image latex file, thus causes no problem.

I tried to use -no_math but it did not have any effect. Can I set
another option in the call of latex2html 2K1 to get the same
behaviour as in 98.1p7 ?

Thanks a lot in advance

	Sigbert Klinke

chapter[22.05.01]{Exercises 22.05.2001}

\begin{enumerate}
\item Which mathematical function is computed by {\tt (x>0)-(x<0)} ?
\item Generate a rowvector {\tt va} with the elements $1$, $3$, $5$, $7$, $11$, $13$, $17$ and $19$. What is the common property these numbers share ?
\item Generate a columnvector {\tt vb} with $1$, $2$, ..., $2^7$.
\item Generate a rowvector {\tt vc} with $1$, $4$, $9$, $16$, $25$, ..., $1024$.
\item Compute the values of the function $y=e^{-x}$ for an equidistant grid from $-3$ to $3$ with an stepwidth of $0.1$.
\item Compute the difference of the functions $y_1=x^5+x^4+x^3+x^2+x+1$ and $y_2=1+x(1+x(1+x(1+x(1+x))))$ for some $x$. What is the difference between both methods ?
\item Create a vector {\tt vd} which contains the numbers from $1$ to $100$ and another vector {\tt ve} which contains $100$ elements equal to $7$.
\item Solve with the data \latex{(next page)} about students below the following tasks\\
\begin{enumerate}
\item How many students have not more than $2$ siblings ?
\item Which percentage of the students have at least $2$ siblings ?
\item Compute the absolute frequencies based on the classes
$600-650$, $650-700$, $700-900$, $900-1200$, $1200-1450$.
\item Which percentage of the students have an income between $750$ and $1300$. Compute
the quantity for the original data {\em and} based on the classes in the task before.
\item Compute appropriate ``central'' values for all variables.
\item Compute the $25\%$, the $75\%$ and the $90\%$ quantile for all variables
\end{enumerate}

\item Read the dataset {\tt human.xls} in XploRe. The data come from a study investigating a new method of measuring body composition, and give the body fat percentage (\% fat), age and sex for $18$ normal adults aged between $23$ and $61$ years. What kind of statistical analysis could we do ?
\item Read the dataset ``Factors in country inflation'' from the \htmladdnormallink{DASL}{http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/DASL/}.
What kind of statistical data analysis can be done ?
\item Read the data about people with jobs from the WWW page
