[l2h] DVIs of math figures contain a vertical line

Hello,

Running latex2html on the following LaTeX file produces a badly misaligned
equation. A closer look at the program output shows that the generated PNG
is much wider that the actual width of the equation: there is plenty of
white padding on the left.

   \documentclass{article}
   \begin{document}
   \[
   S = \sum_{i} y_i
   \]
   \end{document}

The same happens replacing \[ and \] with an equation or displaymath
environment. It doesn't happen when using an eqnarray environment tough.

Running latex on the generated images.tex produces a DVI file with a black
line at the left margin of the page. The presence of that black line, I guess,
causes the cropping process to fail and leave a lot of white space
at the left of the equation.

Any hints?

Thanks in advance,

Ciro
