[fptex] Mysterious indentation with fpTeX

I downloaded fpTeX from ftp.dante.de/.../current this Saturday and
installed it immediately. All looked well and the processing time for a
LaTeX run was indeed very fast. But then I noticed something peculiar
processing the Latex file shown here:

\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
\section{First section}
Hello World!
\begin{description}
\item[Indentation] No thanks, not here!
\end{description}
\end{document}

I was simply using LaTeX and it turned out that "Hello World!" was
indented! As was the "description" environment.

Then I turned to PDFLaTeX, which did not have this unpleasant
behaviour.

So... Does anyone know what's wrong?

I'm using Win98, but this time I doubt it's the one to blame.
