I'd rather suggest to begin switching to makeinfo.  The current
pretest version from Texinfo 4.0d supports split-HTML output, so the
major obstacle to using makeinfo for HTML is gone.  The advantage of
makeinfo is that it is always guaranteed to support the full Texinfo
language, whereas texi2html doesn't (I think it doesn't support the
latest features like @anchor, @alias, etc.).
