This means there is a bug in fptex packaging and/or TeXSetup and/or
documentation. If you follow the instruction from
http://www.fptex.org/wwwfptexse2.html#x6-50002 and choose "Install GNU
Emacs", then you end up *without* a working GNU Emacs installation.

BTW, GNU Emacs is now at level 20.7.3 (released on 21 Decemebr 2000).


I would like to stress that I appreciate very much fptex. I want to
recommend it to my student, therefore I test it from a novice point of
view. I am looking forward to the corrected distribution.
