Thanks for the help. Anyway, I think it may be important to mention the
following problem with dvips.

dvips -Paiz -o -D10000 dvifile
and
dvips -o -D10000 -Paiz dvifile

are not equivalent. In the first case, you get 
' TeX output 2000.02.09:1320' -> lptchandbook.ps
and in the second
 ' TeX output 2000.02.09:1320' -> | lpr -Paiz
so it looks like dvips is not parsing the switches correctly.

This is not mentioned in the dvi version of the manual. I know there is an
info version, but How can I read it with my emacs NT? Or, Where can I get
an info.exe for NT?
