pdftex.pool in fptex 0.4 on ctan

I got fptex 0.4 from ctan yesterday, and it installed OK I guess,
but I didn't get any pdftex.fmt

Then when I tried to make pdftex.fmt directly I got

! pdftex.pool doesn't match; tangle me again (or fix the path).

Replacing the pdftex.pool which had been placed in my
fptex\texmf\web2c
directory by the version contained in the zip file
pdftex-0.14g-pretest-20000912-win32.zip
fixed the problem.
