I don't know why, but when I found this and cross-checked that was the
only exception I found (of any interest to me) and in several cases
the fptex versions were later than teTeX.  Of course, both fptex and teTeX
are moving targets.

If you want exactly the same setup, I suggest you bring a copy of your
teTeX texmf tree home, and delete its .../texmf/web2c dir.  That's
what I have done since before fptex was fptex.  You need to juggle
texmf.cnf to get the tree in the right priority.  I have the fptex one
before the teTeX one, but removed all the duplication in the fptex one.

I suspect this is due to `levels' in TeXlive and subfigure is `level 3',
but I've not checked recently.
