Sebastian, and all of you who have tried to help me with this:
Thanks for giving precious information. I have updated hyperref to version:

hyperref 1999/04/13 6.56
I have also updated graphicx to package version:
graphicx 1999/02/16 v1.0f

Following your advice.
Now this is my log file when I run pdfLaTeX on my CV:

--- snip
*hyperref using default driver pdftex*
(c:/localtexmf/tex/latex/hyperref/hpdftex.def
! Undefined control sequence.
l.25 \ifHy@pagelabels

?

which looks to reflect exactly the problem that you (Sebastian) wrote
about, hpdftex.def not being the right one. Now I have two questions:

1) Which is the right hpdftex.def file? Could it be that from the last
version of the hyperref package this file is obsolete?
2) What about pdftex.def, is the right one that from "graphics" or which
one?? I am a bit confued on this issue.

Thanks again everybody.

Massimo
