Hi Fabrice,

Well, I reloaded texmf.cnf out of
ftp://ftp.ese-metz.fr/pub/TeX/win32-beta/fptex-0.2-bin1.zip
and, as I suspected, I hadn't changed it. My tex-related environmental
variables is:

TEXMF d:/users/jklymak/texmf//;c:/TeX/{texmf.local,texmf}//;

plus the appropriate PATH additions. I removed the PK files. I still get:

****************************************************************************
kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode / --bdpi 600 --mag magstep\(0.5\) --dpi 657
cmsy10

This is METAFONT, Version 2.7182 (Web2c 7.2)

(c:/TeX/texmf/fonts/source/public/cm/cmsy10.mf

(c:/TeX/texmf/fonts/source/public/cm/cmbase.mf)

(c:/TeX/texmf/fonts/source/public/cm/mathsy.mf

(c:/TeX/texmf/fonts/source/public/cm/calu.mf [65] [66] [67] [68] [69] [70]

[71] [72] [73] [74] [75] [76] [77] [78] [79] [80] [81] [8gsftopk(k) version
1.16/550

/public/cm/symbol.mf

(c:/TeX/texmf/fonts/source/public/cm/sym.mf [0] [6] ... [254] [255]

mktexpk: Running gsftopk ptmb8r 864

mktexpk: c:/TeX/texmf/fonts/tfm/adobe/times/ptmb8r.864pk: successfully
generated.
*****************************************************************************

Next time running windvi:
*****************************************************************************

kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode / --bdpi 600 --mag magstep\(0.5\) --dpi 657
cmsy10

mktexpk: c:/TeX/texmf//fonts/tfm/public/cm///cmsy10.657pk already exists.

*****************************************************************************
So it is still getting put in the wrong place.

Like I say, not a big deal. Everything else works great. Just one of those
details...

Cheers, Jody
