compwordmark

Hi,

I'm experimenting with direct reencoding of URW Palladio v1.05
to T1 (EC) encoding.  This works fine at first sight:  
Almost the complete T1 character set is immediately available.
However, there is (of course) no "compwordmark" in the font.

Q1:  Is this a real drawback for using the reencoded font?
(Is compwordmark actually required anywhere?)

Q2:  If yes:  Can the compwordmark be faked without going via
a virtual font?
