Hello TeX users,
2025 will be an election year for TUG. The positions of TUG President
and seven other members of the Board of Directors will be open. A
nomination form and election information are available:
https://tug.org/election
The deadline for submission of nominations is March 1, 2025, 7am
US/Pacific. We encourage all who are interested to take a look and
consider running.

TUGboat 45:3, a regular issue, is at the printer and will be mailed to
members and published online shortly. We always appreciate receiving
articles for upcoming issues (the next deadline is March 21, 2025, but
nevertheless :).

Two book reviews that will be printed in TUGboat 45:3 are available
online already, both by well-known authors in the TeX world: Stefan
Kottwitz's LaTeX Cookbook, second edition, and George Gr\"atzer's Text
and Math Into LaTeX, sixth edition. Reviews and information:

TUGboat 45:2 was mailed a few weeks ago and (unfortunately) is still in
transit for many outside the US. We appreciate your patience.

A new version of LaTeX will be released shortly and the distributions
updated. As usual, there are substantial improvements to the tagging
support, and plenty of other bug fixes and enhancements. A summary will
be available here:
https://www.latex-project.org/news/latex2e-news/
A newsletter is posted with each LaTeX release and provides detailed
information on new features, bug fixes, and more. They are aimed at both
users and developers/maintainers of packages. Take a look!
