Hi
I've just found a gem in the history of computer typesetting from 1967. It
is a US Department of Commerce report on "Automatic Typographic-Quality
Typesetting Techniques: A State-of-the-Art Review".
Here's the link, which is an scan (with OCR):
https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc13276/
By the way, I found this item via
https://www.google.com/search?q=TTS+code+tyepsetting
And that search arose from reading
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linotype_machine
By the way, Mary Steven (one of the authors) wrote 6 more similar documents.
https://digital.library.unt.edu/search/?q3=%22Stevens%2C%20Mary%20Elizabeth%22
with kind regards
Jonathan
