Installing MacTeX keeps coming up with error

Note that the MacTeX install package must be moved from the downloads folder
to your desktop or home directory before installing from it.

If this is not the problem, please write me directly at koch at uoregon.edu <mailto:koch at uoregon.edu>
Does this error occur immediately or at the end of installation? If at the end,
use the "Custom Install" option to try to install one piece at a time. Do they
all fail, or only some?
