Installation issue with TeX Live 2023 on Linux Mint

I am very aware that that was the output of Yassines compilation and not installation.

Which is why I wonder why a pdflatex compilation would trigger a format build when that is the last thing the installation does. So it seems to me that the installation process might not have successfully completed.

What exactly did you install? (scheme) and did the installation complete?

I find it rather strange that it is starting by creating the pdflatex format, that should have been done at the end of the installation.

Is it not the case, Lars, that it was not the installation log that Yassine attached but rather the output of "pdflatex -shell-escape helloWorld.tex" ?

A simple "pdflatex -shell-escape helloWorld.tex" takes hours to compile with a flood of outputs (attached file)
