True. But can you still get hold of the old version? Are you still allowed
to use it, even though you got yourself another computer, or even though
another person now has to work on it? Does the original vendor still sell
licenses? How much do they cost, in terms of time and money? Does it still
run on the new operating system? 

Point of a publisher is, that (s)he needs to be able to re-create the old
output with the *current* system.
