[texhax] includegraphics problem with xelatex on mac

Hello ,
I'm new to Mac and I am having some problem with include graphics with
xelatex  on Mac. I'm trying to include an eps file new_picture.eps to
my latex document.
I'm using Texworks on mac and getting this error message,

Unable to load picture of pdf file 'new_picture.eps'

Interestingly the same text file compiles and works fine when I use
Texworks on windows. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
